I think this pillow feels exactly how you think it would. I tried using it for a couple of nights, but just couldn't find the right spot, and ended up switching back to my old pillow.
After about a week of owning it, it still has quite a smell, and will pass that smell onto anything that touches it. It's tough to describe exactly what the smell is, but I guess I would just say it smells "synthetic"? I think if you're recommended to get a pillow like this, then it's not a bad buy, but be ready for some rougher nights of sleep when you first use it.
I’ve always struggled with neck pain in the morning, no matter what pillow I tried, until this one. I’m a side and stomach sleeper, but this cradles my head and neck perfectly in any position. I can see the potential of being a back sleeper for once because of how supportive it is. I used it the first night I got it and woke up without pain for the first time in forever. It does take a little getting used to since it’s shaped so differently, but that’s also what makes it versatile. You can flip it the opposite direction if you need more elevation, and there are lots of ways to adjust it depending on how you sleep. If you are a stomach sleeper, there are cutouts at the top of the pillow that your arms fit nicely into. Definitely a game changer for me.
I like this more than expected! I am traditionally a back sleeper so the middle position works. I will also briefly sleep on the side but don't like putting too much pressure on my face so that tends to be a secondary position. From my experience, the side sleeping is where this pillow excels. It has these "wings" on the side, that tilt upwards and help add support so your spine is more aligned. I tried both my left and right sides, and found them equally supported. I put a regular pillow case on it, and it looks normal enough until you touch it, so it can look fine on your bed.
This is a support pillow, not an emotional support pillow—so manage your expectations accordingly. If you’re looking for a shoulder to cry on, this ain’t it. But if you’re a side sleeper like me (trying to flirt with back sleeping thanks to my smart bed’s nagging), this funky-shaped wonder actually pulls its weight.
I’ll admit, I’ve been burned before by oddly contoured pillows that promise the moon and deliver a neck cramp. This one? Surprisingly comfy. It cradles my head
This is a great little pillow. The contoured shape is supportive but overall it is compact and lightweight. I tried sleeping on it for a night and it was a bit too tall for me. The depth to the head cradle is a little too long, although I have this problem with most cervical pillows since I have a very short neck. My son slept on it and loved it though. He says it fit his head and neck perfectly. He's about 5'7" with a normal neck length (not short like me). This has now replaced his MyPillow.
